Recommended Background SubjectsIf you are considering option choices at school you might like to download our Recommended Background Subjects chart (94k in PDF format). This will help you check that you have the appropriate school subjects for areas you are thinking of studying at University. While there are no compulsory subjects for first year study at Otago, the University does list some subjects as highly desirable and others as useful preparation. Liaison DiarySchool’s Out for Summer! The Liaison team wishes you a happy Christmas, and a sunny and safe holiday season. Examination results will be out in January and you will be off to University as a consequence. If you want to rethink your first year course a Liaison Officer will be available from January 5th for Course Planning. We're happy to help existing students explore their options, too. Just call for a chat or an appointment; numbers are on our Liaison page. If, however, you are disappointed by your results and need to consider other options, have a look at our CUP (Certificate in University Preparation) course, which runs in Semester 1, or contact a Liaison Officer. Places in Residential Colleges will continue to be offered throughout January and February. In the meantime, have a great summer break and we look forward to seeing you at Course Approval and Orientation week in late February in Dunedin.
