Honeycomb Hill Caves/Kayak Tours

Located in the Kahurangi National Park surrounded by the magnificent rainforest of the Oparara Basin, the Honeycomb Hill Caves and the Honeycomb Hill Arch are both in the Kahurangi National Parks Special Protected Area.
Of great intrinsic value, this unique area combines delicate limestone formations, a multitude of extinct fauna species, and a third spectacular limestone arch.
Tours of the Honeycomb Hill Caves are readily available, but prior booking is essential
(min 2 max 8) 10am & 2pm, meeting the guide at the top carpark in the Oparara Basin
$85.00 pp adult, $40.00 pp under 12 Approx 2 1/2 hours
If you choose to use your own transport, allow 50 mins driving time from Karamea into the Oparara Basin.
Transport available from Karamea at an additional $25pp

Please note: the Honeycomb Hill Caves and Honeycomb Hill Arch are restricted to GUIDED TOURS ONLY, due to their delicate nature and need for protection. All tours take approx 2 1/2 hours return to the carpark.

Honeycomb Hill Arch Kayak Trip
A magical experience, meetingthe guide at the top carpark in the Oparara Basin at 1pm
Prior booking essential (min 2 max 5) $85 p.p. Approx 2 hours
Kayak through this timeless,karst landscape and rainforest up to the Honeycomb Hill Arch, the third and prettiest of the Arches in the Oparara Basin
Please note: Kayaking trips are subject to last minute cancellation if river and weather conditions are unfavourable. Guides decision is final. Refundable
Kayak trips do not begin until approx mid-December when the blueduck breeding season is over
Back to back Cave/Kayak tours available at a discounted price of 10%

8.30 am pick up from door with morning and afternoon tea and a special BBQ lunch with a Karamea flavour provided (min 2, max 6)
Approx 8 hours $230 pp
Both of the above tours can include the option of Moria Gate Arch instead of the Oparara Arch, or you may wish to visit both Arches instead of the Heaphy Track
Alternatively, you could walk the new Moria Gate /Mirror Tarn Loop track.
