Since I'll arrive at Brisbane airport at late night, so if I want to look for a hotel which is closer to the airport, any idea? I'd probably stay only 1 night. Thanks!

We don't have hotel near by airport. I think it's able to find a place to stay overnight at airport information centre.

101box.com

To whom it may concern,
I am writing to inform you about my unpleasant experience, and complain about the poor performance of the police in New Zealand, during my visit there on March 6 to 20 this year.
I am a civil servant in Hong Kong. I like traveling a lot. I had a nice trip in the South Island of New Zealand in 2002. I was impressed by its nice view, kind people there and a convenient road system. That is why I like travel by car in New Zealand. I made the second visit to New Zealand with my wife this year, since I believed that it was a safe place to travel.
We arrived at Auckland and transited to Wellington. We rented a car (Reg.No.DDB880) in AVIS Rental Car Co., and we embarked on our journey. We visited to Wellington, Hastings, Napier, Taupo, Rotorua and Wanganui, in where we had a nice trip and I enjoyed driving freely.
Unfortunately, we had an accident on our way back to Wellington on Mar 14 2006. We arrived at the Southward Car Museum, situated on Otaihanga Road, Paraparacumu, at about half past two in the afternoon. I parked my car in the car park outside the museum and locked all the doors, windows, as well as the boot well. After about an hour, we returned to the car. I discovered that the lock of driver’s door was damaged, and the quarter window was broken. The car had been searched by someone. After careful examination, I found that all of our belongings, including 2 suitcases, a backpack, a digital camera, a lunch bag, some clothes and some other possessions had been stolen. At that moment, we felt so helpless. My wife returned to the museum and sought help from the staff. The staff then called to the police immediately and told us that the police would arrive soon. However, 10 minutes later, the staff said that the police would not come and we were required to report to the police station by ourselves. As we have no idea of the where-about of the police station, a helpful gentleman led us the way. Then I drove the car and followed him to the nearest police station in Kapiti, which was about 2km away from the museum. It was about 4 o’clock in the afternoon, and there were nobody in the report room. I rang the bell, and a female officer in plain cloth came to us. She interviewed us and completed a brief report form for us. After some time, a male officer in uniform then approached us. What he did was just to take about 4 pictures of our car, and told us that we could leave and they would keep a record of purpose afterwards, while it was almost time for them to close duty.
Being a foreign people in other countries, he often fails to seek support from others. As a tourist at that moment, I felt particularly helpless since I had no relatives and friends in New Zealand. I then called the staff of AVIS Rental Co. in Wellington, they simply instructed me to drive back and inform the insurance company of the incident. Eventually, we managed to return to Wellington on our own. As the instruction from Kapiti Police station was not clear enough, especially there was no reference number on the Police report reference form, we tried to attend the Central Police Station in Wellington in the evening, and enquired whether we should make a detail report for them. However, what the officer did was simply checking the report number (which is 060314/3441) from computer to us, and noting down the supplementary information that we gave in a small rough paper. He then told us he could do no more than that. To my impression, the police officers in both stations were definitely lacked the professionalism that police should possess and the help to us as victim was far from satisfaction.
Luckily, our travel documents were kept and I managed to get into contact with my travel agency in Hong Kong. They not only re-arranged hotel rooms to us, but also fax us the documents needed immediately. Therefore we had a place to stay at night and enabled to continue our trip. When I returned to Hong Kong, I found that someone attempted to withdraw money from my bank account with the lost credit card, as well as making calls with my mobile phone which supports roaming. I would never visit New Zealand again, because it is such a paradise of crime.
I would like to give wholehearted advice to potential visitors to New Zealand, that it is definitely not a safe place to travel. They must beware of crimes around them at all times. If they encounter difficulties, they would not be able to get substantial support from the police there. It is hoped that our treatment by the police personnel was only by incident but not because we are Chinese from Hong Kong and the education of crime prevention to tourists could be more concrete. As a matter of fact, we are looking forward that the lost could be located though the chance of success is slim. To the end, please be understood that our grief was not because of the loss of properties but the good memories of the feeling the beautiful scenery in the lost films.
Thank you for your attention.
Yours sincerely,
TSE Tze-lam

我和老公本来也想租车的,看来2个人还是坐旅游大巴算了,毕竟安全最重要!谢谢分享。
